Family business
The sawmill at the same site
The location and family business gave the later snowboard school its unusual name.
Since 1996
The name came from the family business. Daniel Schmid connected it with the then-new sport of snowboarding.
Why Sägerei?
The Schmid family ran a sawmill at the Sedrun site. When Daniel Schmid cleared out the former drying hall at the age of 24, the name was already there. In 1996 he opened a snowboard school with a small shop and rental service, starting with 30 snowboards.

The team
The instructors do more than teach on the mountain. They advise in the shop, fit rental equipment and look after boards in the workshop.
